Our story
xmrstars began with a discussion about a privacy-first Patreon alternative on Monero.Forum. After thoughtful feedback and early donations from the community, Nolan started building the platform in his free time.
The goal remains simple: give creators a welcoming, sustainable place to publish public and subscriber-only work without tracking their audience. We self-host the application and uploaded media, require no JavaScript, and use Monero as the payment method.
There is currently no xmrstars platform fee: creators receive 100% of each payment directly in their own wallet.

Nothing. xmrstars currently charges no platform fee, so 100% of the requested payment goes directly to the creator’s Monero wallet. A sender’s wallet or the Monero network may still apply its own transaction fee.
No. Creators connect their own Monero address, and fans pay that wallet directly. xmrstars monitors incoming payments to activate subscription access but cannot spend the creator’s funds.

Creators can publish text, images, and videos for everyone, all subscribers, or selected membership packages.
Monero supports private, permissionless payments and lets creators receive funds directly without xmrstars becoming a custodian.
